For the 50th time, a Dhaka court has deferred the investigation report submission date in the case filed five years ago over the sensational murders of journalist couple Sagar Sarowar and Meherun Runi.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mazharul Haque on Wednesday directed Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to submit their findings by October 8.

The court again delayed the submission date as Assistant Superintendent of Police of RAB Mohiuddin Ahamed, also the case investigation officer, failed to submit the report on Wednesday as scheduled.
Earlier, the report’s submission was delayed 49 times in the past five years since the sensational murders. But RAB failed every time to submit the report.
Journalist couple Sagar and his wife Runi were killed in their West Rajabazar flat in the capital on February 11, 2012.

Sagar was the news editor of private TV station Maasranga and his wife Runi was the senior reporter of another private TV channel ATN Bangla.
Following the murder, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police had launched an investigation. Later, the case was transferred to the Detective Branch of police.
However, on April 18, 2012, the High Court, in an order, moved the case to RAB for investigation as the former had expressed its inability to solve it.
