The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday confiscated the assets of expelled Juba League office secretary Kazi Anisur Rahman. The seized assets are worth a total of Tk100 crore.
Deputy Director Gulshan Anwar Pradhan seized the assets, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattachariya said.
The seized assets in Dhaka include a five-storey house at Kalabagan, two flats at Dhanmondi and Wari, three shops at Elephant Road, 13 square feet of commercial space and two shops at a market in Gulshan-2.
Furthermore, the ACC seized a luxurious house in Boalia at Muksudpur of Gopalganj, a petrol pump, 15 bighas of land worth Tk30 crore and 40 kathas of land in Keraniganj. The ACC also detected a Tk50 crore bank transaction.
Earlier, the ACC seized income tax documents worth about Tk16 crore from Kazi Anisur Rahman and his wife Sumi Rahman.
On September 29, 2019, the ACC filed a case against Anisur and Sumi for accumulating Tk12.80 crore in illegal wealth and Tk1. 31 crore in illegal assets.
