ACC Director Sayeed Iqbal Hossain issued the letters on Thursday

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent separate letters seeking wealth information of former independent MP Mohammad Ali of Noakhali 6 and his son Ashek Ali.

ACC Director Sayeed Iqbal Hossain issued the letters on Thursday, ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed.

The duo was asked to submit their wealth information within 21 days, Pranab said.

The anti-graft watchdog found that the individuals have amassed wealth illegally beyond their known sources of income, during an investigation.

The ACC also learnt that they accumulated movable and immovable wealth not only in their names but also in the names of their family members and relatives, Pranab added.

A top ACC official said:"If they fail to submit their wealth information in detail within the deadline, the commission will take legal action under the ACC Act 2004."
