Alamgir Md Mahfuzullah Farid and his wife Noor Akhtar Jahan were summoned upon charges of amassing illegal wealth

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated BNP leader and former lawmaker from Cox's Bazar 2 constituency, Alamgir Md Mahfuzullah Farid.

Deputy Director of the commission Jahangir Hossain interrogated him over allegations of amassing illegal wealth, ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee confirmed to Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.

The anti-corruption watchdog graft found inconsistencies in Mahfuz's wealth after primary investigation, upon which it summoned Mahfuz and his wife, Noor Akhtar Jahan, in early 2007.

On November 6, ACC again summoned the BNP leader for interrogation.

Although Mahfuz appeared in front of the commission on Thursday, his wife did not.
