The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has summoned former Rural Development and Co-operatives Division (RDCD) secretary Prashanta Kumar Roy over corruption allegations against him.

The former government official has been asked to appear before the commission headquarters at Segunbagicha in Dhaka at 10am on Tuesday, according to a letter signed by ACC Deputy Director Jahangir Alam.

ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Monday.

“There are specific allegations against Prashanta Kumar that he has amassed wealth through irregularities and corruption,” he said.

According to the ACC officials, Prashanta took a huge sum as bribe from an Australian national during his service and accumulated wealth through illegal means when he served as the managing director of Denim Polymer and Denim Expert Limited.
