Projects undertaken in FY2021-2022 have to be implemented successfully as well, says Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque
The Agriculture Ministry has implemented 98% of its Annual Development Programs (ADP) for the fiscal year 2020-21—18% higher than the national average—even with the Covid-19 pandemic wreaking havoc in the country.
The information was presented at a meeting held to review the progress of ADP implementations at the ministry's conference room at the Secretariat in Dhaka on Thursday.
Agriculture Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque presided over the meeting.
There were 85 projects in the FY2020-21 with an allocation of Tk2,312 crore, of which Tk2,255 — 98% of the allocation — has been spent, according to a media release.
Terming the achievement “very satisfactory”, Razzaque said: “This has been possible due to the relentless hard work of our officers and staff at all levels.”
The minister thanked everyone involved in the implementation of the projects.
Everyone concerned must work with sincerity and dedication to maintain the success in the future, he added.
“The projects undertaken in the current financial year have to be implemented successfully as well to ensure food security for the 170 million people of the country,” the minister said.
Several top officials of the ministry including project directors were present at the meeting moderated by Senior Secretary Md Mesbahul Islam.
