Doctor: Injury marks on head, body of Buet student Fardin

Initially, it was assumed that the incident was murder, says the doctor

The body of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) student Fardin Noor Parash bears several injury marks, according to a doctor who conducted an autopsy on Tuesday morning.

He came up with the information after conducting the autopsy around 11:30am.

The body of Fardin, the third year student of Civil Engineering Department at Buet, was recovered on Monday night from Shitalakshya River in Siddhirganj of Narayanganj after 3 days of disappearance.

Fardin's entire head was injured in different parts. There are injury marks inside the chest, said the doctor adding: “Initially, it was assumed that, the incident was murder.” 

A report will be given soon after the post-mortem, he said.

Several pieces of evidence were collected to ascertain whether he died after being hit, said the doctor.

It will be possible to know the details after the tests.

Meanwhile, police have also interrogated several people so far in this connection.

Before disappearing on the night of November 4 last, he dropped off one of his female friends to go home in Rampur area.

The family believes that the incident was planned murder. 

Fardin's uncle Khan Selimuzzaman told Bangla Tribune: "We think this is a planned murder. Law enforcers are investigating the incident and will find out who is behind this. We will file a case in this regard later. Now we are busy with his burial process.”

Rampura Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kazi Rafiqul Islam told Bangla Tribune: "We have interrogated several people in connection with the disappearance of Buet students. Meanwhile, we interrogated his female friend , who was dropped off by Fardin in front of the Rampura traffic police box on November 4 night.” 

Pointing out that several other important information about the murder has been found, the OC further said: “Investigation is going on in these matters. We are working to find the real reason behind this murder.”

“After dropping off his friend, we got some important information about where he went. We will soon uncover what went down that night after scrutinizing the information at hand,” he added. 

Fardin grew up in the Konapara area of Demra. His body will be brought to his current educational institution Buet after autopsy. The first namaz-e-janaza will be held there. 

Later, the body will be taken to Shamsul Haque Khan School and College, his previous educational institution, Demra. 

After the second funeral there, the burial will be done in Pagla area of Fatulla in Narayanganj, according to family sources.
