Rain forecast for parts of Bangladesh

Tetulia sees most rainfall in 24 hours

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind may occur in different parts of the country in the 24 hours to 9am on Sunday.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places in Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions and at a few places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet divisions, with moderately heavy to heavy rain at some places in Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong, said a BMD bulletin.

Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay, it added.

Daytime temperature may rise slightly and nighttime temperature may remain nearly unchanged across the country.

The country's highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 36.3 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and Saturday’s lowest temperature, 24.5 degrees Celsius, was recorded in Rangamati.

The highest rainfall in the 24 hours till 6am on Saturday was recorded at 103mm in Tetulia.

The sun will set at 6:50pm on Saturday and rise at 5:15am the next day in the capital.
