Indian President Ram Nath Kovind will travel to Dhaka to attend the Victory Days celebrations at the invitation of Bangladesh President Md Abdul Hamid.
Kovind will pay a state visit from December 15 to 17, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Monday.
During the visit, he will hold a delegation level meeting with President Hamid. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will call on the Indian president. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen will also call on him, according to the statement.
In his first visit to Dhaka, Kovind will join Victory Day celebrations, which will also coincide with the wrapping-up ceremony of Bangladesh founder Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary celebrations.
It comes eight months after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited to join the opening of the birth centenary and golden jubilee celebrations.
