Biman to resume Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur flights Tuesday

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has decided to resume flights on the Dhaka-Kuala Lumpur route from Tuesday as Malaysia has relaxed restrictions on passenger transport from Bangladesh.

The Kuala Lumpur-bound flights will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 7:15pm (local time), while Dhaka-bound flights will be operated on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 2:30pm (local time), said a Biman press release on Sunday.

Passenger transport on the Kuala Lumpur route had been suspended since May 7 due to Covid-19 restrictions, but passengers from Malaysia could come to Bangladesh.

On September 21, the Malaysian government lifted entry restrictions for nationals from Bangladesh and other countries.

Meanwhile, Biman will also restart direct flights on the Sylhet-Cox's Bazar route from Tuesday, according to its winter schedule.

The carrier has also decided to increase its flight frequency on the newly commenced direct Syedpur-Cox's Bazar-Syedpur route to two flights instead of the current one flight a week.

From Wednesday, Biman will operate two weekly flights from Syedpur to Cox's Bazar every Wednesday and Thursday and two flights from Cox's Bazar to Syedpur every Saturday and Sunday, the release added.
