Of the 69 arrested so far, 13 more accused have been placed on a three-day remand in a case filed over the attack on the Hindu community in Pirganj upazila of Rangpur last week.
Investigating Officer (IO) and Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirganj Thana Mahbub Rahman submitted a seven-day remand plea before a court on Tuesday against the 13 accused persons in arson attack, looting and vandalism case.
After hearing the plea, Judge of the Pirganj Cognizance Court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Fazle Elahi granted remand for three days for each of the 13 accused persons.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pirganj police station Saresh Chandra said a total of 69 people have been arrested so far in four cases filed with Pirganj police station in connection with the arson attacks, looting, vandalism and violence in Majhipara village.

"Meanwhile, we arrested two Shibir activists on Sunday night from their village homes in Sadullapur of Gaibandha on charges of carrying out arson attack and violence," he said.
The arrested Shibir activists are Abdullah Al Mamun, 23, and Omar Farooq alias Tonet, 24.
"The IO of the arson attack, vandalism and looting case Inspector Mahbub Rahman produced the Shibir activists before a court with a remand prayer on Monday afternoon. Hearing on the plea will be held soon," OC Saresh said.
On the night of the incident, the duo came to Majhipara village in Pirganj from Sadullapur on a motorcycle with petrol and took part in the arson attacks and violence against the Hindu community, the IO said.

OC Saresh Chandra informed that a total of four cases have been registered in connection with the violence in Baro Karimpur Majhipara village.
"Three cases were filed under the Digital Security Act and another case in connection with the arson attacks, looting, assault, vandalism and robbery," he added.
Earlier, arrested prime suspects of Pirganj violence Saikat Mandal and Rabiul Islam gave confessional statements before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate of Rangpur Md Delwar Hossain admitting their involvement in the incident on Sunday night.
Saikat Mandal is accused in a case filed under the Digital Security Act while Rabiul Islam is accused in the arson attack, looting, vandalism and violence case.
"Both Saikat and Rabiul were sent to the jail hajat after they gave confessional statements before the court on Sunday night," OC Saresh added.
Meanwhile, the 37 accused persons, who were put on three-day remand in connection with the arson, vandalism and looting in village Majhipara of Pirganj upazila, were also sent to the jail on completion of their remand on Sunday.
