Members of Bangladesh Hindu Parishad have blocked the Shahbagh intersection in protest against the series of communal attacks across the country on the Hindus.
Several hundred people joined the demonstration that began around 3:30pm on Friday, causing traffic gridlock on the roads leading to Gulistan, Farmgate and Elephant Road.

They will observe a torch procession at 6pm, said the organizers.
Since the attacks began in Comilla on October 13, dozens of groups have organized protests at Shahbagh with a view to draw the attention of the government to take quick and stern actions against the perpetrators.
