State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Md Murad Hassan has demanded posthumous trial of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman for the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He made the demand while addressing the inaugural session of Photography and Digital Centre arranged by the Press Information Department (PID) at the Secretariat on Wednesday afternoon.
"I demand the posthumous trial of Ziaur Rahman who was the key mastermind of the Bangabandhu killing, main actor and the beneficiary of the assassination; who later became the army chief, military ruler and president," the state minister said.

Those who did not want the independence of Bangladesh and could not accept the leadership of Bangabandhu had killed him, Murad said.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud addressed the function as the chief guest.
Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md Mokbul Hossain also spoke on the occasion with acting principal information officer Md Shahinoor Miah in the chair.
