Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has Arested 562 people on Wednesday on the sixth day of the ongoing countrywide strict lockdown for breaching the rules.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Iftekharul Islam confirmed the matter to BSS on Wednesday.
He said the police arrested 562 people in different police stations in the capital for violating the rules of the nationwide 14-day strict lockdown.

Besides, some 208 people were fined Tk1,61,300 through the mobile court, he said, adding that the DMP traffic department also fined Tk11.33 lakh to 489 vehicles.
The nationwide ongoing strict lockdown beginning on July 23 will continue till August 5 in order to stem the surge of coronavirus infection.
