Two persons were killed after an autorickshaw crashed into a truck parked along the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj Highway in Godagari upazila early on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Madhab Haoladar, 40, a dairy farmer from Nasipur village in Chapainawabganj and Selim Hossain, 35, son of Mukhlesur Rahman of the same district.
Godagari model police station Officer-in-Charge Kamrul Islam said that the speeding autorickshaw hit the stationary truck in the Gopalpur bazar area around 5am, leaving the two seriously injured.
Both were rushed to the Godagari Upazila Health Complex, where Selim was declared dead on arrival. "Madhab was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries," said the OC.
The truck and autorickshaw have been seized, he added.
