'I feel refreshed now,' says the Dhallywood actor, who has brought attempt of rape charges against businessman Nasir U Mahmud
Popular Dhallywood actor Pori Moni visited the office of the Detective Branch (DB) of police in Dhaka on Tuesday, after being summoned over the alleged attempt of rape and murder on her.
She was called to discuss further details of the attempt to rape and murder case filed with Savar police station, as she is the plaintiff.
Following her visit, Pori Moni told reporters: “I feel refreshed now. This feels magical.”

She thanked the law enforcement officials for their prompt action after filing of the case.
Harun-or-Rashid, joint commissioner (North) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said: “We will do our best to bring justice in this case.”
Shamsun Nahar Smriti, popularly known as Pori Moni, posted about the incident on her Facebook page on Sunday, seeking Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's help and demanding justice.
Later that night, the actor at a press conference revealed the identity of the perpetrators who allegedly assaulted and attempted to rape her several days ago.
She claimed that Nasir U Mahmood, former president of Uttara Club Limited, and another businessman named Tuhin Siddique Omi tried to rape and murder her at the boat club on the Turag River on June 8.
On Monday, she filed the case against Nasir and five others. Police arrested Nasir and four others from the capital’s Uttara area later in the day.
In her latest post on Facebook, the actor expressed her gratitude to the prime minister, law enforcement agencies, journalists, her colleagues, and the countrymen who have been by her side in this difficult time.
"You are my courage," she wrote.
Pori Moni, who joined the film industry in 2015, has played the lead female role in over 20 movies.
She is best known for her work in Giasuddin Selim's "Swapnojaal" (2018). She is also set to play Pritilata in the upcoming biopic "Pritilata Waddedar."
Last year, Forbes magazine had named the actress as one of 100 Digital Stars of Asia.
