The gas distributor conducted drive in Narayanganj and Munshiganj
The state-owned Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited has disconnected as many as 61,000 illegal household gas connections and more than 100 commercial connections in Narayanganj and Munshiganj in three months.
In their drives, they also removed 93km gas pipelines used for illegal use in commercial and residential areas in the two districts, according to a press release of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid on Sunday directed the officials concerned to remove illegal gas and power connections quickly.
At the secretariat, he also urged the officials to take effective steps for realizing outstanding bills.
