A Chittagong court on Saturday granted a four-day remand to Enamul Hasan Faruki, personal secretary to former Hefazat-e-Islam’s chief Junayed Babunagari, in a sabotage case.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Helal Uddin granted the remand after Hathazari police produced him and sought a 10-day remand period, reports BSS.
A team of RAB-7 detained Hefazat’s Hathazari upazila unit Publicity Secretary Enamul Hasan Faruki from Fatehabad area in Hathazari upazila of the district earlier on Friday.

Chittagong RAB 7 Commander Lt Col Mashiur Rahman said Faruki was arrested from Fatehabad of Chittagong’s Hathazari at night, reports UNB.
He was arrested over the violence in Hathazari.
Faruki was handed over to Hathazari police, the RAB officer added.

Hathazari police said that Faruki used to send all statements and press releases of Hefazat-e-Islam on behalf of Babunagari.
Faruki is accused in the murder case of former Hefazat chief Shah Ahmad Shafi.
Another case accuses him of vandalism and arson at Hathazari police station building and the upazila land office.
