Day temperature may rise by 1°C-2°C
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Saturday forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Dhaka, and Chittagong divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions in 24 hours till 9am on Sunday,” said a Met office bulletin issued here this morning.
The weather may remain mainly dry elsewhere over the country, the bulletin added.
Besides, a mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Jessore and Khulna and it may spread.
Day temperature may rise by 1°C-2°C and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6am on Saturday was recorded at 42mm in Sylhet.
The country’s maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 36.5°C at Mongla in Khulna division and the minimum temperature on Saturday was 20.4°C in Mymensingh.
Saturday’s sunset in Dhaka will be at 6:34pm and Sunday’s sunrise will be at 5:15am.
