The government is taking all effective measures to stop further spread of Covid-19 across the country, says the ICT state minister
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Wednesday said that technological infrastructure has been playing a crucial role in the fight against Covid-19.
“Although the Covid-19 pandemic has created a crisis in the country…but our information technology infrastructure is playing a conducive role to overcome this crisis,” he said while virtually joining with inauguration of oxygen supply service at the upazila health complex in Singra.
Around 50,000 masks were also distributed to different district and upazila level organizations on behalf of the state minister.
Palak said that Vision 2021 of Digital Bangladesh was first announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2008.
“Digital Bangladesh is now a reality due to effective measures taken by Sajib Wazed Joy who is known as the architect of Digital Bangladesh,” he addressed the event.
“Now people of all professions are getting the benefit of Digital Bangladesh,” added the state minister.
“Despite the Covid-19 crisis but the online education is ongoing for the last 13 months through using the infrastructure of the Information and Communication Technology Division,” said the ICT state minister.
The judiciary is continuing its services through virtual court, e-commerce is thriving, he added.
Speaking about the government’s measures to fight Covid-19, the ICT state minister said “We are doing everything to curb the infection rate.
“We have also added central oxygen supply systems to 492 upazila health complexes in 64 districts.”
The virtual program was chaired by Natore Deputy Commissioner M Shahriaz
Among others, Director General of the Department of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Civil Surgeon of Natore Dr Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Singra Upazila Awami League President Advocate Wahidur Rahman Sheikh, Shingra upazila parishad Chairman Shafiqul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Samirul Islam and Singra Municipality Mayor Jannatul Ferdous, also took part at the program.
