The pills were hidden in a toothpick box
A Bangladeshi man travelling to Saudi Arabia was detained with 1,415 pieces of Yaba pill at Hazrat Shahjajal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The detainee Touhid Alam, 25, was apprehended when he came to the airport to catch a Jeddah-bound flight on Tuesday evening.
HSIA Director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said members of Aviation Security (AVSEC) recovered the Yaba pills from a toothpick box in Touhid’s bag during a security screening.
Touhid Alam was handed over to the Department of Narcotics Control along with the Yaba pills for further legal action, said the airport director.
A case will be filed against Touhid Alam under the Narcotics Control Act with Airport police station, said an official of the Narcotics Control Department.
