Update : 16 Mar 2021, 10:39 PM

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) Director General Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun on Tuesday warned against attempts to disrupt law and order during the celebration of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu and the golden jubilee of independence.

He made the remarks while responding to a question from reporters on security measures at the RAB Media Center, at a press conference in Karwanbazar in Dhaka.

RAB has taken special security measures and the headquarter is monitoring the situation round-the-clock, Mamun said.

He assured there was no threat of militant attacks on the occasion and that RAB has already strengthened security across the country ahead of the event.

He also said that control rooms have been set up at RAB's own battalion level. Anyone can contact RAB through the control room and online if they have any information.

RAB dog squad, adequate reserve force, and special team are always ready to deal with any untoward situation with the help of round-the-clock surveillance through CCTV, he added.

Checkposts will be set up and RAB’s teams will provide security to foreign guests.

RAB will keep a close watch on all hotels, where the VVIPs will stay, and important venues, where the VVIPs will visit, said Mamun.
