Report in sedition case against Mamunul, Babunagari, Faizul on April 1

President of Muktijuddho Moncho central committee Aminul Islam Bulbul filed the case against the three on December 7, 2020

A Dhaka court today set April 1 to submit probe report in a sedition case against acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish Maolana Muhammad Mamunul Haque, Islami Andalan Bangladesh Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Faizul Karim and Hefajat-e-Islam Ameer Junayed Babunagari.

Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Satybrata Shikder passed the order while the investigation agency, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), failed to submit the report on Wednesday.

President of Muktijuddho Moncho central committee Aminul Islam Bulbul filed the case against the three on December 7, 2020, and the court after recording statement of the plaintiff, ordered deputy inspector general (DIJ) of PBI to probe the case and submit the report.

In the case, the plaintiff alleged that Mamunul at a function in capital’s BMA Bhaban on November 13, 2020, had threatened to lay seize in Shapla Chattar area while Syed Faizul Karim at a separate programme in Dholaikhal area, had called for jihad to stop construction of Bangabandhu sculpture, he even threatened to throw the sculpture in the Buriganga river.

Junayed Babunagari in another program at Hathazari in Chittagong had also allegedly threatened repeating a Shapla Chattar blockade and tearing down the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Aminul Islam Bulbul in the case also alleged the accused trying to incite communal hatred by using the religion and use this for gaining political miles.
