Police believe that these bullets were stored by freedom fighters to use in the war
Police have recovered a box full of 3,460 wartime bullets from a house in Narsingdi.
The bullets were found while digging was going on around a house in Belabo, Narsingdi, on Tuesday.
Belabo police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Safayet Hossain Palash confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said a group of workers found the bullets in the backyard of a house of late Abdul Hai, an organizer of the Liberation War. The bullets were stored for safekeeping to be used by freedom fighters.
After finding the bullets, the owner of the house Bayazid Hossain, son of Abdul Hai, informed the police about them.
On receiving the news, Belabo police recovered the box with the help of locals.
According to local residents, the house was a camp of freedom fighters in 1971.
Bayazid said: "I have heard that in 1971 there was a camp of freedom fighters in our house." However, he said he did not know about the stored bullets.
