The decision will come into effect from November 1 and continue till March 2021
The Bangladesh National Zoo in Mirpur, Dhaka will be open for the visitors, free of cost, on the first Sunday of every month, starting from November 1, to mark the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The decision will be effective till March 2021, an official release said on Friday.
The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock made the decision as per the instruction from Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim. School and college students will get priority for the free pass.
The ministry has asked the Department of Livestock Services (DLS) to open the zoo for the visitors from November 1 after taking some precautionary measures, including the Covid-19 health guidelines.
The National Zoo was shut down on March 20 this year due to Covid-19 pandemic.
