The move follows a request from the Italian Embassy in Bangladesh
Biman Bangladesh Airlines on Saturday began the passenger registration process for flights on the Dhaka-Rome route.
The move follows a request from the Italian Embassy in Bangladesh.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Biman Bangladesh Airlines Managing Director and CEO Mokabbir Hossain: “The number of flights to Rome, Italy, will depend on the demand from passengers.”
Earlier, on October 15, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen said Italy had withdrawn a flight embargo for Bangladeshis with valid stay permits. It is estimated that there are at least 2,000 migrant workers with valid residence permits for Italy.
Detailed information regarding the flights can be found on Biman's website www.biman-airlines.com.
