Bangladesh, China ties to be fortified through exploring new areas of cooperation

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed their confidence that the existing relationship between Bangladesh and China will be further strengthened and deepened in the days ahead.

On the occasion of the 71st founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China, Abdul Hamid and Sheikh Hasina sent their congratulatory messages to Chinese President Xi Jinping conveying the heartiest felicitations and warmest greetings to the government and people of China.

President Abdul Hamid highlighted that Bangladesh and China enjoy “excellent bilateral relations” which have experienced phenomenal growth in key areas in recent years.

President Hamid conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the Chinese President on the occasion, according to the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.

He wished President Xi good health, long life and happiness and continued peace, progress and prosperity to the friendly people of China.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina appreciated China as one of the most valued partners of Bangladesh for its socio-economic development and the continued Chinese aid and supports to Bangladesh during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The prime minister also recollects the great memories of President Xi’s visit to Bangladesh in 2016 and hers to China in 2019, one elevating bilateral relations to Strategic Partnership of Cooperation and the other bringing two friendly nations even closer on bilateral, regional, and international issues of common interests, according to the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka. 

With the vision to explore new avenues of further cooperation to realize the full potentials of China-Bangladesh relations, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wished President Xi Jinping good health, long life and happiness as well as continued peace, progress and prosperity to the friendly people of China.

The prime minister has also sent a congratulatory message to Li Keqiang, premier of the State Council of China.

In the message, she emphasized that the friendly relations between the two countries exist on the basis of shared values, similar national objectives and mutual respect.

The prime minister highlighted the Strategic Partnership of Cooperation between China and Bangladesh established in 2016 with common aspirations towards peace, progress and prosperity of our two peoples.

She fondly recalls her visit to China in 2019 during which both countries reached broad consensuses on various issues and deeply appreciates China’s assistance to Bangladesh during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The prime minister also expressed hopes that the two countries can further fortify their relations through exploring new avenues of cooperation and wishes her Chinese counterpart good health and happiness, and peace, prosperity and progress to the friendly people of China.
