Singapore sets conditions for visitors

Covid-19 test certificate from Bangladesh not required while entering Singapore

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has set four major conditions for allowing visitors into the country. 

Following the CAAS announcement, Biman Bangladesh has decided to operate flights to Singapore from October 1, said Biman CEO Mokabbir Hossain. 

"Biman will operate Dhaka-Singapore-Dhaka scheduled flights every Thursday from October 1. 2020. Tickets can be purchased from Biman's mobile apps or website, travel agents, or Biman's sales counters," he added. 

As per the conditions, short-term visa holders or visitors will only be allowed to enter Singapore if they can show a medical ground certificate from the Ministry of Health of the respective countries.

However, Singapore citizens and PR holders will not need any permission to enter the country.

Those who have work passes or long-term visit passes will require permission from the Ministry of Manpower before purchasing tickets while student pass holders will need permission from the Ministry of Education.

Transit passengers are allowed for immediate connection but cannot leave Changi airport. They must have onward confirmed tickets and baggage should be checked-in up to the final destination.

All travellers have to follow the health instructions by the CAAS, mentioned in the conditions.

For passengers from Bangladesh, CAAS has issued some additional information. These include: 

1. Covid-19 test certificate from Bangladesh not required while entering Singapore. The Covid-19 test will be done in Singapore.

2. Health declaration is required. No cough, no fever, no Covid-19 symptoms like runny nose, short breath, etc.

3. All types of passengers shall go for isolation for 14 days on arrival in Singapore. Passengers will have to bear the hotel accommodation cost (Approx. SGD 2,200). 

4. No one will be allowed to receive any passenger at Changi airport.
