RAB said, Himu embezzled Tk3 crore from about 400 people in the name of giving jobs in Brunei
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three alleged human traffickers for sending migrant workers to Brunei, in the name of providing work, and embezzling money.
Sheikh Aminur Rahman Himu, an associate of Mehedi Hasan Bijon, who is allegedly the main middleman of human trafficking, has been arrested from Kafrul area of Dhaka on Wednesday afternoon.
RAB said, Himu embezzled Tk3 crore from about 400 people in the name of giving jobs in Brunei.
In 2009, he sent about sixty migrants to Brunei via his unregistered agency, Nazrul International Service and Highway International RL.
But later they returned home, paying for their way home, as they were provided with no jobs there, RAB said.
RAB claims to have recovered a foreign gun from his possession.
The other two, Md Noor Alam and Bablur Rahman, have been apprehended from their office at Mohakhali DOHS area.
RAB is conducting drives to arrest all of their associates.
