Curtain falls on Art from Home

Internationally renowned artist Monirul Islam, artist Abdus Shakur, artist Kanak Chanpa Chakma officiated the programs and were the judges

“Art from Home,” an online based art competition for the people with special needs, concluded on Tuesday.

The event was organized on Facebook Live by CHILD Foundation for the welfare of the people with special needs during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In an attempt to make their home quarantine colourful, creative, and productive, the competition was organized with the slogan - “Ghorey theke lorai, rong-tuli te borai” which loosely translates to “Pride in colours-brushes, while fighting from home.” The theme of the competition was “Days after Covid-19” divided into three categories, age-wise.

Internationally renowned artist Monirul Islam, artist Abdus Shakur, artist Kanak Chanpa Chakma officiated the programs and were the judges.

More than 150 participants from all around Bangladesh participated in this 14-day long competition.

From group “A,” 9-year-old Mushrat Mahjabin Maha from Bogra won. From group “B,” 12-year-old Abu Huraira Saad from Dhaka and group “C,” 20-year-old Umma Hani Nodi from Dhaka won the competition.

On September 14, through a special Facebook live from CHILD Foundations Facebook page, the winners were announced in the presence of the judges and others.

CHILD foundation is a non-political and non-profit organization in Bangladesh working with the goal to provide all forms of supports to children, youth and adults with special needs, building an inclusive society with equal opportunity for all special need individuals and raising social awareness about them.
