Narayanganj administration opens inquiry over mosque fire

The probe committee will submit a report within five days

Narayanganj district administration has formed a five-member probe committee to investigate the incident of AC blast at the Baitul Salah Jame Mosque in Sadar upazila.

“A five-member investigation committee has been formed by summoning Additional District Magistrate Khadija Tahera Bobby. We will submit the report within five working days,” Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner Jasim Uddin told BSS.

Other members of the committee are Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Brigade Abdullah Al Arefin, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime), Executive Engineer (East) of DPDC Golam Morshed and Narayanganj Zone Manager of Titas Gas Distribution Company Limited Mofizul Islam.

The committee has been working since Saturday and has visited the spot in the morning.

When asked if the incident was a sabotage, the deputy commissioner replied, “We have visited the spot and collected information. It is not the right time to make any comment as the investigation is not finished yet.”
