Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am this morning was recorded 42mm at Teknaf
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am on Tuesday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong Divisions, at many places over Dhaka and Rajshahi Divisions, at a few places over Sylhet Division and at one or two places over Rangpur and Mymensingh Divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong Divisions,” said a met office bulletin on Tuesday.
“Monsoon is active over southern part, fairly active over northern Bangladesh and strong over North Bay,” added the release.
Temperature during the day may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall slightly over the country. As an extended outlook for the next 72 hours, the bulletin predicted that rainfall is likely to increase.
The country’s maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius jointly in Comilla, Syedpur, and Tetulia on Monday and the minimum temperature was recorded at 23 degrees Celsius in Teknaf on Tuesday.
