Awami League General Secretary, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said the government will announce the decision to open educational institutions as soon as the situation surrounding Covid-19 becomes favourable.
The minister made the statement at a virtual meeting organized by SouthEast University on Sunday on the occasion of the National Mourning Day. Obaidul Quader joined the discussion through a video conference from his official residence.
He said the prime minister and the education minister are closely observing the situation regarding the opening of educational institutions, and they will make a decision as soon as conditions become favourable.
BNP involved in August 21 grenade attacks
Pointing to pictures of the August 21 grenade attacks, Quader said that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) involvement in the incident is “as true as daylight”, and attempts to hide it were futile.

He said the truth will come out even if “BNP buries its face in the sand.”
The Awami League general secretary also said that the “enemies of darkness cannot bear the truth. The truth moves forward at an unstoppable pace.”
Recalling the barbaric carnage, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday claimed that Khaleda Zia staged the August 21, 2004 grenade attack as carrying out killings is their (BNP’s) habit.
“Returning to power, Khaleda Zia staged the grenade attack. Those who were involved in the conspiracy of August 21 grenade attack revealed during their interrogation that Khaleda Zia’s son Tarique Rahman was also involved in that conspiracy,” said the premier.
