Light to moderate rain likely across Bangladesh

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am Sunday was recorded 122mm in Cox's Bazar

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted light to moderate rain across the country for the next 24 hours beginning from 6am on Sunday. 

"Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, and Chittagong divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country," said a Met office release on Sunday.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

According to the Met office, a well-marked low over West Madhya Pradesh of India and adjoining area persists. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, centre of the well-marked low, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends up to north Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate over north Bay.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am Sunday was recorded 122mm in Cox's Bazar.

Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 33.3 degree Celsius in Rajshahi and minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded 24 degree Celsius at Teknaf in Cox's Bazar.

The sun sets at 6:25pm Sunday and rises at 5:38am Monday in Dhaka.
