One can take part in Eid Jamaat without any fear. Overall, the RAB's intelligence surveillance will continue, says RAB DG
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General (DG) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun said that additional RAB forces would be deployed to ensure security at important Eid congregations.
One can take part in Eid Jamaat without any fear. Overall, the RAB's intelligence surveillance will continue, he said while speaking at a briefing on Thursday after visiting the capital's Uttara Diabari temporary cattle market.
He said there is a risk of theft and robbery in various financial institutions, banks, markets, and houses during Eid. In this regard, regular patrols of RAB have been increased in special areas. The presence of RAB will be visible during the holidays.
Regarding the cattle market, the DG said that a lot of people gather at the cattle market. All must buy and sell sacrificial animals at cattle markets by ensuring social distance.
The RAB has set up counterfeit note detection machines at the cattle market so that no one can be deceived by counterfeit notes, he said.
The RAB's intelligence surveillance has also increased in this regard. In addition, RAB patrol teams are present at the markets to prevent snatching, theft, and activities of “Aggayan party” (dope gangs), he further said.
There are also lots of sacrificial animals being bought and sold online. RAB's cyber security is monitoring there. If anyone encounters problems in buying and selling online, RAB will take action as soon as possible after getting complaints, he added.
He also said that they are conducting security checks on vehicles and continuing to monitor extortion in Dhaka-bound cattle trucks.
