1,364 of Armed Forces personnel, their families, and affiliated others, infected by coronavirus
In all so far, ten present and retired members of the country’s Armed Forces have died of Covid-19.
Of them, eight - all above 60 years of age - had retired, and two were currently serving. All of them showed other health complications besides Covid-19.
They all were undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
Till now, 1364 people affiliated with the armed forces - including those who have retired, who are currently in service, and their relatives - have been admitted to the CMH for coronavirus treatment, according to the press release. Of them, 1020 are currently serving or retired personnel, and 92 are family members.
Another 252 are civilians employed at different armed forces institutions.
Currently, 933 of them are admitted at different Combined Military Hospitals (CMH) while 421 have returned home after recovery, the press release added.
7410 samples tested from armed forces members, families
7410 samples collected from members of Armed Forces, both in-service and in retirement, and their families, have been analyzed so far. 13 RT-PCR machines installed at different CMHs and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology were used for the tests.
Of those tested, 4375 are armed forces members, 774 from families, and 2261 from among affiliated civilians, and others.
