Fifteen people have been released after they recovered from the virus infection
The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) has said no new Bangladeshi was infected with coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours.
The institute also reported no new death over the period.
IEDCR Director Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora made the announcement while addressing an online press conference on Sunday.
With the latest development, no fresh coronavirus case and death were reported in the last two days.
Flora said 109 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and no positive cases were found.
Meanwhile, 15 people have been released after they recovered from the virus infection, she said.
At present, 28 individuals are undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at the hospitals, she said.
The institute received 2,726 phone calls related to coronavirus through the hotlines in the last 24 hours, Flora added.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed five deaths and 48 infections from Covid-19, a new strain of coronavirus.
The fast spreading coronavirus, which was first reported in China's Wuhan, has infected 664,672 people and claimed 30,892 lives till 1:10pm on Sunday, according to Worldometer.
Globally, a total of 142,368 infected people have also recovered from Covid-19, a pandemic announced by the World Health Organization (WHO).
