President M Abdul Hamid is scheduled to home today wrapping up his 11-day official visit to Uruguay and London.
“A regular aircraft of Qatar Airways carrying the President and his entourage is expected to land at Hazrat Shahjalal (r) International Airport at 4:40 pm Saturday,” President’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told BSS yesterday.
During the visit, the head of the state, besides attending the Uruguayan Presidential Command Transfer Ceremony at Montevideo, joined some other private programs in London.
The president left Heathrow International Airport, London, for Dhaka by a flight of Qatar Airways (QR 2) at about 8:30pm (London time), said Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury, the press minister of Bangladesh High Commission in London.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom (UK) Saida Muna Tasneem and senior embassy officials saw the president off at the airport.
Earlier, Abdul Hamid left Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport, Dhaka on February 26 by a VVIP flight of Emirates Airlines.
President’s spouse Rashida Khanam and secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban are accompanying him during the trip.
