No new dengue patients in the last 24 hours

Last year, 101,354 people were hospitalized due to dengue in Bangladesh

No new dengue caseshave been reported in the last 24 hours.

There were no reports of patients affected with dengue fever until 8am on Wednesday, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a press release, reports UNB.

According to the daily update from the DGHS, two dengue patients, including one in Dhaka, are currently being treated at hospitals across the country. 

Since the beginning of this year, there have been 241 cases of dengue. Of those cases, 239 have been discharged from hospitals.

In 2019, Bangladesh experienced a massive dengue outbreak, with the disease claiming 164 lives, according to the government. 

The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) confirmed the number of deaths after reviewing 263 out of 266 reports of dengue-related deaths.

Furthermore, last year, 101,354 people were hospitalized due to dengue in Bangladesh. Of them, 101,037 made a full recovery.
