The move came after the authorities drew huge criticism from people from all walks of life
A company named Multifabs Limited in Gazipur which made prayers mandatory for its Muslim employees and staff, has backtracked on its position.
A notice, signed by Abdul Quddus, executive directive of the company, was issued in this regard on Monday.
The move came after the authorities drew huge criticism from people from all walks of life.
On February 9, the company had ordered all it’s on duty staff to attend prayers three times or waqts—Zuhr, Asr and Maghrib—at the factory mosques and put their fingerprints in the biometric attendance system after every waqt, everyday.
It also said that salary or wage equivalent of a single day will be deducted if any employee did not attend prayers for at least seven times in a month.
