Govt to set up national judicial academy in Shibchar

Law minister said training judges is very important for institutionalizing judicial system in Bangladesh

Law Minister Anisul Huq has said the government is planning to establish a national judicial academy at Shibchar in Madaripur district with a view to imparting training to judges.

He said: “As per the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, a national judicial academy will be set up in Bangladesh as training is very important for institutionalization of the judicial system.”

The Minister made the statement after visiting the proposed land of the judicial training academy at Shibchar on Friday afternoon, reports BSS.

The law minister said the government led by Sheikh Hasina has established the rule of law in the country, adding that judiciary is working as an independent body now.

Jatiya Sangsad Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury, Madaripur District Council Chairman M Miazuddin Khan, Deputy Commissioner M Wahidul Islam and District Awami League Senior Vice-President Munir Chowdhury, among others, accompanied the minister during the visit.
