Commerce Ministry said the import will continue till the supply of onion and its price become normal
A total of 4,159 tons of onions have been imported through different ports of Bangladesh on Thursday.
At least 1,227 tons onions have entered the country through Teknaf, and 2,932 tons through Chittagong sea port, a press release from Ministry of Commerce said on Friday.
Of the total amount of onion brought, 1,227 tons came from Myanmar, 384 tons from China, 84 tons from Egypt and 2,500 tons from Turkey, reports BSS.
According to the Commerce Ministry, this import would continue till the supply of onion and its price become normal in the country.
