Rain likely at many places across Bangladesh

Day and night temperature may remain unchanged over the country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department has predicted that rain or thunder showers may occur at many parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9am Saturday.

Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at most places over Sylhet and Mymensingh divisions and at a few places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions," said a Met Office weather bulletin here on Saturday.

"They might also occur at one or two places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over northeastern part of the country,” the bulletin said, reports BSS.

The low over coastal Odisha and adjoining area now lies over North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh, said the bulletin.

However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The highest temperature on Friday was recorded 32.9 degree Celsius in Teknaf under Chattogram division and the lowest temperature was recorded 18.5 degree Celsius in Tetulia under Rangpur Division today.

Country’s highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 121 mm (millimeters) at Bogra under Rajshahi division.

The sun sets at 5.24 pm today and rises at 6.02 am tomorrow in the capital.
