Update : 31 Jul 2019, 07:35 PM

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has said four specialized hospitals in Dhaka will do free platelet count blood test for dengue patients.

The hospitals are Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital, and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), said Sania Tahmina, director of DGHS (disease control unit), in a press conference at DGHS headquarter in Mohakhali on Wednesday.

Sania said:”Hospitals are charging different amounts for the test, and now the government has decided to provide the service for free.

“The patient needs to be present at the hospital to get the service.”

The DGHS authorities have also asked Dhaka’s private hospitals to set a uniform price, and not to make extra profit from it, she added.
