Shahab Enam Khan, professor of International Relations at Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh, has stepped up to sponsor JAAGO student Rubel.

Rubel is a student of JAAGO’s first batch, who is currently studying textiles at Daffodil Polytechnic Institute after passing his SSC exams. He lost his father at an early age, and his mother has been struggling to support their family of six as a vegetable vendor.

The child was on the verge of dropping out of school to help make ends meet, when Shahab, also research director at the Bangladesh Enterprise Institute, came forward to help him continue his studies.

With the support of sponsor parent Shahab, Rubel has grown to be a practical individual with dreams of working in the IT sector.

Around 800 students like Rubel are enrolled in JAAGO schools across the country, and are seeking support. A small monthly contribution of $27 (Tk2,000) per student can change their lives and pave the path to fulfilling their dreams of a better and brighter future.
