The Bangladesh all-rounder took a day off from practice due to left thigh strain Monday

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib al Hasan took a day off from practice due to a strain on his left thigh on Monday ahead of their match against Sri Lanka at the Bristol County ground.

Shakib scored 121 against England in their last match and he felt discomfort while batting in the match.

The Bangladesh team practiced on Monday but Shakib did not take part in batting and bowling sessions.

Bangladesh physio Thihan Chandramohan gave an update on Shakib at around 7:30 local time and stated, “Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan suffered a left thigh strain while batting during the ICC Cricket World Cup match against England in Cardiff. He underwent a precautionary scan today in Bristol. We are waiting on a specialist assessment and report.”

According to the team management, Shakib’s condition will be assessed prior to the match against Sri Lanka and then, it will be decided whether he will play or not.
