At least six people have been killed in separate road accidents around the country.
The incidents took place in Naogaon, Gopalganj, Jhenaidah and Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday.
In Naogaon, three people were killed when a truck rammed into a motorcycle in front of Brac office, in Patnitala upazila of the district in the afternoon.
Deceased Abdus Salam, 45, and his son Towfiq Islam, 27, were residents of Chak Doulatpur village in Mohadebpur upazila, and their relative Roni Islam, 24, son of Ahad Ali of Najipur area in Patnitala upazila.
Patnitala Police Station Inspector (investigation) Zahurul Islam confirmed the incident.
In Gopalganj, a minor boy was killed when pickup-van ran over him on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Kashiani upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Setu Sharif, 8, son of Wares Sharif of Rajpat village.
Kashiani Police Station Officer-in-Charge Azizur Rahman said the incident took place when the pickup-van hit the boy on the highway leaving him dead on the spot.
In Jhenaidah, a boy was killed after a three-wheeler ran over him in Purbakrishnapur village in Sadar upazila in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Sabbir Hossain, 9, son of Dablu Mandaol.
In Cox’s Bazar, a schoolgirl dies as her stole got tangled with an easy-bike in Nuniachhara area in Cox’s Bazar town in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Niru Akter, 13, daughter of Md Dulal.
Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Farid Uddin confirmed the incident.
