The People for Animal Welfare (PAW) Foundation will observe World Animal Day this year with a number of programs between October 4 and 8.
The day will be observed across the world on Thursday, October 4.
With the theme “Save Animal Save Humanity, One Love for all Animals,” the PAW Foundation will mark the day by organizing awareness processions and rallies in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, and other areas of the country on Thursday afternoon, according to a press release issued on Wednesday.
Throughout that day, the foundation will also provide free medical treatment and low cost vaccinations for cats and dogs from its veterinary clinic, PAW Life Care, situated in the capital’s Lalmatia neighbourhood.
The foundation will also organize an exclusive workshop on animal welfare and mental health of children at the EMK Centre, located on Road No 27, Dhanmondi, between 3pm and 8pm on October 8.
Dr Hiresh Ranjan Bhowmik, director general of Livestock Services Department, will be the chief guest at the workshop, which will also be attended by European University of Bangladesh’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr Mokbul Ahmed Khan.
