OIC delegation visits Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar

They will meet with officials from the Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner

A 20-member delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has visited the Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar. 

They landed at Cox’s Bazar airport on Wednesday morning and continued to Ghumdhum transit Rohingya camp. 

The delegation of the OIC Parliamentary Union spoke to a number of Rohingya men and women who recently entered Bangladesh. 

Later, the delegation visited the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhiya upazila. They went to the transit centre inside the camp and talked with Rohingya people who were tortured by Myanmar’s military. 

The team is expected to visit a women-friendly centre and child-friendly spaces run by UNICEF. 

They will also meet with officials from the Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner, in Cox’s Bazar, before leaving for Dhaka later in the day.
