Bangladesh Railway is to start selling advance train tickets toEid-ul-Azhaholiday makers from Wednesday.
Advance ticketsfor August 17-21, and 24-28 will be available from nine days before the date itself, with sales beginning at 8am each day.
Each person will be limited to buying a maximum of four tickets.
Also, nine pairs ofspecial trains will run on different routes on the occasion of Eid.
A total of 1402 coaches and 229 locomotiveswill be active.
Law enforcement officials of Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway NirapattaBahini (RNB), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) will be deployed at all major stations.This is meant to prevent the sale of tickets on the black market,with the deputy commissioners concerned holding mobile courts in place.
Meanwhile, the Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka Maitree Express Train will remain suspended on August 21 and 22,with the Bandhan Express staying inactive on August 23.
